Welcome To SEPS Women's Self Defense

A Free Modular Course In Female Personal Safety & Self Defense

SEPS Women's Self Defense Course The SEPS (Situation Effective Protection System) Women's Self Defense Free Online Course, is an 8 module program that aims to introduce women to an array of subjects that concern their personal safety, from sexual assaults to potentially abusive partners (both emotionally and physically). Each module looks at a separate issue of self-protection and self-defense. At the end of the program, you should be empowered to predict, identify and avoid violence, and as a last resort be able to be able to yourself physically - against the most common types of attacks and assaults that you will potentially have to face.

Before working through the 8 modules (our suggestion is to study one a week - there is a large amount of content and a lot of information to digest) it is advisable to first read the foundations section of the course as this introduces you to some fundamental concepts and principles that are referred to throughout the modules, and will help give you a better understanding of the module's content. To read the foundation of self defense component of the course please click here.

If you are a self-defense or martial arts instructor teaching or looking to teach women's self-defense, please feel free to use the material on the website in your classes, however we would remind you that it is copyrighted and cannot be reproduced either in print or digital format e.g. in handouts, on websites etc. If you would like to become a SEPS Certified Women's Self Defense Instructor, we have an Instructor Program that you can attend. This course isn't simply a list of do's and do not's, or prescribes a set of rules you should follow, rather it looks to educate and empower you, so that you are able to make dynamic risk assessments of situations you are in where harmful intent may be present. SEPS Women's Self Defense & Personal Safety Course Each module is basically divided into two parts: personal safety/self-protection and self-defense. The self-protection piece will give you the information you need to help you predict, identify and avoid violence before it occurs. It will also provide you with a lot of background information as to why predatory and aggressive individuals act and behave the way they do. This information isn't given simply to increase your head knowledge around the subject, but so that you are better able to understand how and why you should respond to them and their threat in a certain way. The self-defense component of the module will look at one or two common attacks and/or threats and demonstrate simple ways in which to deal with these. If you have "mastered" the self-protection piece the chances are you will never find yourself in a situation where you have to use them. The aim of the course is to teach you how to predict, identify and avoid violence so you are never involved in a physical confrontation. Only as a last resort should you need to engage with somebody physically. Our advise is to concentrate on the personal safety piece and try and find a friend,or group of friends to practice with. If you would like to become a SEPS Certified Women's Self Defense Instructor, we have an Instructor Program that you can attend. Click here for details.
